Slop Cleanup Duty

A few days ago I tasked Opus 5 with finding a Linux KASLR leak. I had no broader goal in mind, I just wanted to see what'd happen. After a couple of false starts it found one. It works in most distros, but not Android due to SELinux.

While I'd like to pretend my expert prompting had something to do with it, I'm sure it'd have worked just as well with "do a breakthrough".

I've run Claude's PoC. It's real, and it works, but it's also a giant pile of slop. At this point I'm worried the slop is permeating my brain and turning my own writing into slop too.

I have no intention of releasing a pile of slop into the world, forcing others to grimace through it just because there's something interesting going on underneath. But I have even less motivation to be on slop cleanup duty.

So, now what? I don't know. I decided to write this blog post instead. Sorry if you were expecting a Linux KASLR bypass. I might get around to explaining it in my own words some day.
